Job profile
As a Business Analyst, you'll do all the very best bits of a consultancy role. It all starts with a technique called Information Based Strategy, which generates insights about our customers and their needs. In a Business Analyst role, you'll use these insights to identify opportunities in the market and think creatively to come up with new strategies and products. After that, you'll research the viability of your solution and present your findings to Senior Managers and Directors.
But, where most consulting work ends there, with us you get to own your projects right through to completion. So you get to see how your project performs in the real world and get the credit for your successes.
Because Business Analysts' ideas are often the most radical and revolutionary, you'll play a key role in our future success and have a huge influence in the decisions we make.
Department Overview
Most of our Business Analysts go into our Marketing and Analysis department, a unique department that seeks to set strategic business direction through combining strategic, traditional marketing and statistical techniques into making integrated decisions. As a graduate here you will be focusing on driving both product innovation and business strategy. You're likely to be involved in a whole range of activities - from assessing product profitability to TV and internet marketing campaigns. You might perform market analysis or learn how we use advanced statistics techniques to understand consumers better.
Alternatively, you could be part of a Business Analyst group outside of Marketing and Analysis looking at long-term strategies for the business or involved in our operational side, understanding how the business works and how we can improve our processes.
Qualifications
Academic achievements are of course essential. That means a 2:1 in Maths, Economics, Engineering or another numerical-based subject from a top university. Also, a good academic background including 'A' grades at A-level.
Skills and Experience
We want genuine original thinkers; people who can think laterally as well as logically. You don't need to know about credit cards, but you do need to enjoy challenging analytical work. We want those with the potential to become senior leaders. Who have entrepreneurial attitude that will make things happen. And just as important is a personality to match performance - someone people enjoy working with.
