Chief Executive Officer
As head of Capital One UK, Lucy looks after the overall strategic direction and general management of our business.
Lucy cares deeply about making credit simple. She believes in creating ground-breaking products and experiences that empower our customers.
Lucy grew up in Oldham and studied Engineering at Girton College, University of Cambridge. She joined our graduate programme in 2000. Lucy has worked in many areas of our business, which has given her a deep experience across underwriting, operations and risk management.
Before becoming CEO, Lucy was most recently our Chief Marketing Officer. She led the marketing, product, brand and design teams to make Capital One's customer experiences simpler. She played a critical role in the development of several award-winning product initiatives, including the QuickCheck eligibility checker and CreditWise, our free credit report tool.
Lucy is a Board member at UK Finance, the country's leading financial services trade association. She also sits on their Personal Finance Product Board.
Chief Services Officer
Rob is responsible for our customer journey. This covers technology, operations, brand & marketing, analytics and our Business Risk Office.
Rob joined our IT team in 1999, after studying physics at University of Nottingham, working as a consultant for National Grid Group and as an analyst for East Midlands Electricity.
He became our Head of IT Architecture and Programme Delivery in 2008 and in 2010 he was made Chief Information Officer. Rob featured in the UK top 100 CIO report for the "most transformative CIOs in the UK business economy" as well as Computer Weekly's UKTech50 and Computing magazine's top 100 CIOs.
His role grew to include leading our Customer Operations in 2017 and he became Chief Services Officer in 2021.
Rupert leads the UK Legal and Compliance teams as well as regulatory relations, external affairs and corporate social responsibility. He’s the senior sponsor for the business's sustainability and environmental agenda. He is also Company Secretary
Rupert is a qualified solicitor, has a degree in law from the University of Southampton and an MBA from Imperial College Management School. He trained as a solicitor at London's ‘Magic Circle’ law firm Allen & Overy where he worked in their banking and finance litigation team.
Rupert joined our Legal team in 2002, looking after market facing activity, litigation and regulatory work. He was made Head of Legal in 2007, Chief Risk Officer in 2011 and Chief Counsel in 2015.
Chief Experience Officer
Katy looks after our Customer Experience team. This includes brand, design, customer communications and new product development. She’s passionate about creating products and experiences that make credit simple for our customers, setting them up for financial success.
Katy has a Masters Degree in Business Management from Loughborough University and years of experience in marketing and product roles. She’s worked for leading brands in FMCG, pharmaceuticals, telecoms, travel and financial services.
Katy joined Capital One in 2017 as our Head of Brand and became our Chief Experience Officer in 2020.
Chief Technology Officer
Joe leads our technology teams, looking after technology operations, architecture, engineering and our technology change portfolio.
An innovative technology leader with strong commercial awareness, Joe is passionate about creating products and services that make credit simple and provide great service for customers.
Joe has a Masters Degree in Politics Philosophy and Economics from the University of Glasgow. His career started in Technology consulting in 1998, spending 6 years consulting in the Financial Services and Telecommunications sectors.
Joe originally joined the Capital One Technology team in 2005, returning in 2018 in the role of Chief Technology Officer.
Chief Operations Officer
Darren is responsible for customer support and fraud prevention.
Darren studied Operations Management at University of Nottingham and joined our graduate programme in 2005. He’s worked across many areas of our business and his passion for customer service led him to Operations. He became the Head of Customer Operations in January 2018.
Darren is an active voice in operational leadership circles, and is currently chairing a UK network of cross-industry COOs.
Chief Financial Officer
James leads our finance department and looks after our financial strategy.
As a long-standing business leader, he has been instrumental in the development of our strategy and products.
James joined the business in 2010, having started his career as a strategy consultant. He has a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford. Before becoming CFO in 2020, he was responsible for customer acquisition including marketing and underwriting.
Head of Customer Acquisition
Perry is responsible for our strategies to bring in new customers and create new credit products.
Perry has a passion for innovating products and experiences that help customers use credit wisely and meet their changing needs.
Before joining us in 2021, Perry held various leadership positions in our US business. This included marketing, customer management, and credit risk management. He recently led a digital transformation for US card customers facing financial hardship.
Perry holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University.
Head of Customer Strategy
Simon looks after our customer strategy and is passionate about helping customers build their credit.
Simon has a Masters Degree in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham and joined our graduate scheme in 2011. He’s held a number of roles across Strategy Analysis and Product Management since then and joined our Leadership Team in 2021.
He's a member of UK Finance's Cards Product and Service Board. UK Finance is the leading trade association of the banking and finance industry.
Head of Human Resources
Katy heads up our Human Resources, covering Talent Acquisition, Development, HR Operations, and HR Business Partners.
Katy cares deeply about the role HR plays in creating an inclusive culture that helps people grow in their career and lets us serve the needs of our customers.
Katy graduated summa cum laude from Wake Forest University with a degree in Communications. After working for our US business since 2011, Katy joined us in the UK as Head of Human Resources in June 2021.
